ToggleWhat is ETIAS and how to apply for it?
ETIAS' refers to a "European Travel Information and Authorisation System", which in English would be something like a European Travel Information and Authorisation System.
The ETIAS is an electronic and mandatory procedure, which will come into force from mid-2025, for visitors from countries outside the European Union who do not require a visa.. This is the case of Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Argentina, Costa Rica, Uruguay, Brazil and others.
ETIAS will carry out a detailed security check on each person travelling to the European Union in order to determine whether that person may enter any of its member countries.
This system seeks to check that persons travelling for business, tourism or study purposes for less than 90 days are not a security threat.
Applying for ETIAS online will be quick and easy, as it will take no more than ten minutes to complete and only requires your valid passport. Once granted, it will be valid for a period of three years and multiple entries.
